In 2024, a beautiful new 5,000 sq ft playground will be added to the green space behind the Hamner Public Library. Amelia County will invest $60,000 in preparing the site, installing fencing, and purchasing a large playset for shcool-aged children. The Friends of the Hamner Public Library are donating $11,000 toward the purchase and installlation of a playset for toddlers.
We are asking the community to help us make this playground a truly wonderful place for the children of Amelia County with help in raising the additional $15,000 to fund a covered picnic area and new swings. Many local businesses and organizations have already pledged support for this project. Donations of any amount are welcome and are tax deductible through the Friends of the Hamner Public Library.
